U-12 Boys Win Premier Tournament Our SELECT U12 boys travel team coached by Jim Leahy and Tony Isabella once again entered the Internationals 2009 All-Star Tournament the weekend of January 24, trying to one-up their 2nd place finish last year where they lost in sudden death overtime against the Columbus Blast. With a field of 12 very tough teams, this year their first game was against the defending champs, and they responded with a dominating 10-5 win. The team then went on to tie Liberty United, and then defeated the Cleveland Whitecaps 5-4 thanks to a great goal in the last 40 seconds of the game. They then went on to beat a very tough Ft. Wayne Fever team by a score of 7-4 in the semi-finals, which brought them to the championship. An amazing team effort resulted in a solid 6-3 win (after being down 3-1) against PFC/Young Gunners in the championship game. This has been the same South Euclid/Lyndhurst travel team that has been together since they were U8's. We have never had a guest player, and their dedication, hard work, determination, and most importantly, the friendships and trust in each other has brought them to this very impressive accomplishment over state teams, premier teams, all-star teams, and everything in between. This team has really made the whole SEL club very proud!
Congratulations to all involved!
