2019/2020 Recreation Soccer Schedule

The SELSC Board has made the necessary, but difficult decision to cancel all Spring 2020 Soccer Activities. We came to this decision based on the uncertain access date of the local community & school facilities and out of an abundance of caution for the safety for the families in our community.

The Board felt it was best to decisive with a cancellation rather that continue to consider delays or alternative programming without confirmed known guidelines or regulations from local or national soccer governing bodies or government officials.

We understand that this situation has caused unexpected financial hardship on many families and every dollar counts, especially when all or part of a family income has been impacted. For those families who have prepaid for the Spring season, refunds will be issued for the Spring 2020 season. Not every family had the same payment schedule and others were paid in full, with these complexities, the refunds aren’t a one-size fits all solution. We will be sending a separate email with additional information shortly.

We look forward to continuing Soccer within our club & community when our complexes are open and it is determined safe and legal to once again come together. Until then, thanks for your support and be well.

Families - We hope everyone is staying safe and healthy. We have received some updated guidance from US Soccer and US Club Soccer regarding the Spring season. In accordance with the the President’s COVID-19 Taskforce Guidelines and Governor DeWine’s Stay Home Order, all SELSC soccer activities are postponed through at least April 30. We don’t have further details as to when or if the season will begin but will continue to monitor and follow the guidelines provided by Local, State & Federal leaders.

Once we have a sense of when things might be able to open, we will come together as an organization to determine next steps. We will also need to coordinate with local city and school board leaders as we depend on their fields for practices and games; to determine the feasibility and safety of having a season.

Note specifically to our travel families; OHTSL is hosting a meeting for member communities to provide guidance and plans for the Spring Travel season. At a minimum travel travel soccer must follow US Soccer’s suspension of play until at least April 30. We know there will be season alterations and the possibility of a shortened or canceled Spring season. We will provide an update when we have more definitive details.

Our first priority will always be your child’s, family’s, and our staff’s health and safety. This will be at the core of our decision making as we navigate this situation. As we learn more information we will keep you updated. For now, please remain vigilant on physical distancing, remaining mentally and physically fit, and know that we look forward to the day that we all get to be back on the soccer field together soon.

Thank You,
